Pardon Shepherd Makuza is my name and I stand today as a living testament to how education and community support can transform a life. In October last year, I proudly graduated with an Upper Second Class Bachelor of Technology Degree in Financial Engineering from the Harare Institute of Technology, an achievement that would have remained a distant dream without the steadfast support of theKambuzuma Drop In Centre.
After successfully passing my Advanced Level with 4 straight As in Mathematics, Statistics, Accounts, and Economics, Kambuzuma Drop In Centre provided me with the muchneeded financial aid for my Part 1 and Part 2 tuition fees. Their support was far more than just financial assistance, they restored my hope and ignited my belief in my own potential. Their unwavering faith in me became the driving motivation to dedicate myself fully to my studies, valuing education as a priceless privilege.
Today, I am a Consultant specializing in Corporate Finance and Advisory Services, applying the skills and knowledge I gained to help businesses thrive and make sound financial decisions. Each day, I reflect on my journey, from a young man in the street of Mbowe Kambuzuma uncertain of his path to a confident professional carving a meaningful career.
Kambuzuma Drop In Centre’s support was not just an investment in my education, it was an investment in my future, my family, and my capacity to give back to my community. To me, the investment made, I will forever regard it as a generational investment as it has extended its reward not only to myself but to my family and friends.
